Common questions

Does VR Player need an account? No Ellipse account is required. If you choose to connect to Jellyfin or sign in to a website, you use the account for that server or website.

Why is a video locked after two minutes in VR? Free users can preview VR playback for two minutes per video, then unlock the full video by watching a short rewarded ad, or remove ads and limits permanently with the one-time Premium purchase.

Can it play protected (DRM) streams? No. DRM bypass and protected-stream extraction are not supported. VR Player is intended for media you own or are authorized to access.

How do I fix a Jellyfin connection? Confirm that the server address is reachable from your phone and includes the correct http:// or https:// scheme and port. HTTPS is recommended. Signing out removes the saved connection and access token from VR Player; the Jellyfin server operator controls server-side account data and logs.

How do watch parties work? Put both devices on the same private Wi-Fi network. The host chooses More tools → Watch together and shares the displayed six-digit code. Every device plays its own copy of the media; only encrypted playback state and the title are exchanged, with no relay server.

How do I send or delete a crash report? Open Settings → Manage → Crash reports. You can inspect, copy, send, or delete the locally stored report. VR Player never uploads it automatically.
